Jajce, the capital of the independent medieval Kingdom of Bosnia, a city of stone, light and water, the royal castle, town-museum under the open sky, was built on the banks of the rivers Pliva and Vrbas.

City with its towers, walls and fortress which surround the town are interesting to see for everybody. Once you there, you get the feeling of mysterious history of the place and you will rush to get to know it better. The old city of Jajce is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage site. We will visit the strongest determinant of the city, his trademark, magnificent, 18 meter high waterfall, place where the river Pliva tumbles abruptly into the Vrbas river. The waterfall decorates the center of the Old Town, which makes this place unique in the world. For sure it will take your breath away. If You are bit more lucky You can come during Summer Festival when there is diving competition next to waterfalls. This small city opens extraordinary ability to capture a single glance of four empires: Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian, three kingdoms: Bosnian, Hungarian and Yugoslav, three world monotheistic religions: Christianity (Orthodoxy and Catholicism), Islam and Judaism, and different architectural styles. Jajce Fortress with long defensive walls was the stronghold of the town of Jajce, a former royal capital and the last territorial possession of the Kingdom of Bosnia. It’s one of the most recognizable symbols of Jajce, it’s believed that it was built back in 13th century.
